When was the last time you read postcards from your families or friends? Do you remember every detail of your time together? With Memory Mender, a 2D interactive story mobile game, you will think again about travelling, relationships and reconnection.

Just as in real life, each postcard carries memories of its sender and recipient and reminds them of where it was sent out. But as time goes by, our recollections fade like the colours of the postcard. With the help of a unique mending ability, one can restore colours and memories by diving into the past and reliving precious moments.

Combination of NHCI and Storytelling

 
Memory Mender explores the potential of combining natural human-computer interaction (NHCI) and storytelling to provide a natural and interesting gameplay experience. The interactions correlate with scenarios in the story, creating an immersive experience for the player.
 

Player needs to use different natural interactions, including visual, body articulation, voice input and speech recognition, to complete tasks and continue the story. Mobile devices and sensors, such as microphone, accelerometer and proximity sensor, are used to collect player input.
